Sandton MasterChef Potjie CompetitionThe Sandton MasterChef Potjie Competition, Ladies and Gentlemen I give you one of our most popular team building events in the entire Johannesburg area. The MasterChef Potjie Competition is an extraordinary team building event that will be a talking point among peers in the office. Sometimes the department simply needs a day out of the office to unwind, chat, mingle and get to know each other better.



Venue - Morningside Country Club, Rivonia

The venue has 3 conference halls (±50pax each), an outside area, one huge marque tent (200pax) with wooden bunks, and two cash bars. Boom gate, and designated guard(s). Find the venue at 1 De La Rey Rd, Edenburg, Sandton, 2128 (Rivonia).

Our facilitators have been with us since 2009. No "Labour Broking", this is genuinely what we pay our facilitators.

09h00 - Huge English Buffet Breakfast

The buffet size & variety depends on the number of people, but usually include bottomless coffee, fruit juice, eggs, bacon, lamb sausages, minute steaks, fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, asserted rolls, baked beans, assorted salads, and many-and-much more. Boys and Gals, this is a huge buffet, and you need at least one hour for this treat.

Ice Breakers (Dividing the Teams up)

Ice Breakers and Fun Group Activities. Ice Breakers include “People to People”, “38”, “Ching Cho Cha”, etc.

Dividing Teams ±10pp/team

The entire group stand in a circle and everybody get a number. All the “number 1’s” would be in a team, and all the “number 2’s” in another team, etc. Allow about ten people per team.

MasterChef Potjie Competition

MasterChef Mystery Boxes (±10/team) - each team receives a Mystery Box with Herbs, Spices, Utensils, Charcoal and Braais. Teams take the braais home after the event. One team will get the tomatoes and pepper, while the other team the onions and salt etc. Teams have to build a meat platter that represents a country, i.e. Mexico, Thailand, Spain etc.

New Charcoal Braais (halaal) 


  • Each braai can BBQ for 10 to 15 people. Teams keep the braais after the event. Charcoal and Fire Lighters. The "Potjiekos Competition" option do not get new braais to take home
  • New Braai Utensils (halaal)- new disposable utensils (halaal), veggie knives, spoons, cutting boards, mixing bowls, mop caps, chef hats, aprons, gloves
  • 101 Herbs & Spices - include basil, tumeric, bay leaves, capers, cardamom, chives, cloves, fennel, garlic, jasmine, nutmeg, oregano, paprika, saffron, curry, thyme, turmeric etc.
  • Lamb, Beef, and Chicken - halaal, Forsmay Muslim Butchery, 011 838 5720 or Laudium Muslim Halal Butchery, 012 374 3415, average ±350g per person


13h00 - Lunch & Soft Drinks

Potjies/Braai are potjies are served with six assorted salads, garlic rolls, and fresh assorted rolls. Salads include Greek Salad, Potato Salad, Fruit Salad, Coleslaw, Noodle Salad, and Carrot

Halal, Vegetarian, Vegan meals are included. Strict Halal meals are ordered from Barcelos at the Main Shopping Centre (tel: 011 466 0047). Kosher meals are ordered and delivered by Totally Kosher (tel: 011 430 1940).
